Bicycle Accessories
Since we are going to be having warm weather soon I'll be able to ride my bicycle soon! The past few months I have been searching Pinterest and the web for more ideas to "pimp out" my bike. In Fall of 2014, I bought my bicycle of Craigslist for $10 🤑 and it was in terrible condition. My bicycle could not even be pushed because the inner tube was wrapped around the tire rim and chain, so we had to carry to and from our car (well my husband did 😉). If you view my earlier posts I have a video on YouTube, which shows the before and after pics during my restoration process.
After it was restored, I was able to add some accessories. The first accessories I about was a Wald 139 Front Basket and a Bicycle Silicone Gel Cushion Soft Pad Saddle Seat Cover and I bought both from Amazon. I bought the wire basket instead of the wicker basket because my other bike has the wicker basket and I wanted to try something different. Also, my old basket did not hold much, so I wanted to make sure my basket held everything and more. I had to buy the seat cover because I love the original seat that came with my bike, but there is not my cushion, so after a few miles of riding my butt and legs are sore. I am disappointed that no one can see my lovely seat, but I love that my butt is no longer sore! 😃 Also, the seat cover was inexpensive, so that was another plus when buying it. Another accessory I bought was a Crane Bell from Amazon because I wanted the Vintage look since my bicycle is Vintage. The bell is not only stylish, but it has a nice tone to it. It does not the typical "brrring" like other bells.
The last thing that I did to my bike to add style was I made a custom basket liner. I bought the liner from my nearby fabric store Joann's and I was able to find fabric that had all the different colors (pink, white, gold, silver, and black) on my bike, so it tied all of them in. Also, to add style to my bicycle I found a Pink Flower that had a magnet on the back and was specifically to decorate a locker. I happened to find it at Joann's on clearance and it matched my bike perfectly, so i stuck it on the front of the basket. My plan now is to add a rear bicycle rack, but I'm not sure what else to do. If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to comment or leave me any feedback in general! I appreciate you for reading and please share my posts!
